About the Honoree: Judy Woodruff is Senior Correspondent for PBS NewsHour, where she previously served as Anchor and Managing Editor for 11 years. In 2023, she launched “America at a Crossroads,” a two-year reporting project to understand America’s political divide. The series debuted with Woodruff interviewing President Biden and has continued with reports from nine states across the country. Her career has spanned five decades, covering politics and 12 presidential elections at NBC, CNN, and PBS. She is also a founding co-chair of the International Women's Media Foundation, an organization dedicated to promoting women in communications worldwide. In 2013, she and the late Gwen Ifill were named the first two women to co-anchor a national news broadcast, the PBS NewsHour. In 2022, Judy was honored with an Emmy for Lifetime Achievement in Television News.

About the "With Charity for All" Wayne Whalen Memorial Award: The award is inspired by President Lincoln’s Second Inaugural Address in which he called on citizens to work together to build a future, “with malice toward none; with charity for all.” The inaugural presentation of the award took place in 2017 when the Foundation honored civic leaders Newt and Jo Minow as its first recipients. The Foundation renamed the award in honor of its late Chairman Emeritus, Wayne Whalen, in 2022. Ms. Woodruff will be the second-ever recipient of this award.
