Foundation’s second multimedia project receives two Telly Awards and two Awards of Excellence in the Communicator Awards

CHICAGO, (June 6, 2024) - The Lincoln Presidential Foundation announced today that its newest short documentary film series, “Fortifying Our Democracy: Lincoln’s Lyceum Address,” released fall 2023, has received four prestigious awards: Silver and Bronze Awards in the history and education categories from the Telly Awards, and two Awards of Excellence in the Communicator Awards, judged and curated by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA) in New York.

“Fortifying Our Democracy: Lincoln’s Lyceum Address” explores the alarming events that motivated Lincoln to deliver his speech, the timeless argument for investing in civic education, and the dangers of taking our political institutions for granted. Featuring expert storytelling and compelling visuals, the series delves into Abraham Lincoln's powerful political ideas and their relevance to challenges facing our nation today.

This is the Foundation’s second short documentary film series. Its first series, “Warning Signs: Lincoln’s Response to Rising Tensions in the 1850s,” released in the fall of 2022, went on to win four awards, including an Emmy Mid-America from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

The Telly Awards is the premier award honoring video and television across all screens. Established in 1979, The Telly Awards receives over 13,000 entries globally and received a record-breaking number of entries this year.
